Elmeridge Cables Limited have been leaders in the production and distribution of custom-made cables since 1987, supplying a range of Medium Voltage (MV) cables.
Our MV cables range includes 3.3kV, 6kV, 10kV, 11kV, 12kV, 15kV, 20kV, 22kV, 30kV and 33kV, and as a specialist MV cable supplier Elmeridge offer single-core and 3-core in copper or aluminium conductors, with or without steel wire or aluminium wire armour.
Aluminium conductors are used to reduce the weight of a cable. However, by doing so the cross-section size would need to be increased by one size to keep the same electrical characteristics as copper. For example, if 35mm is used in copper then 50mm will be required in aluminium.
We also supply Triplex cables.
Our MV cables are used across many industries and sectors around the world, including:
Global Utility Companies
Marine & Offshore
Oil & Gas
Ports & Harbours
Power Distribution Networks
Our team can supply MV cable with various outer sheath compounds:
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)
Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE)
Polyethylene (PE)
High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
Rubber (EPR)
We have the following core size range available – 25mm to 1200mm.
Conductors: Copper or Aluminium. Stranded or Solid.
Bedding: Bonded or Strippable Semi Conductive Layer.
Water Blocking: Longitudinal
Insulation: XLPE is the most common used, but Rubber is used for offshore and marine cables.
Metallic Screen: Concentric Copper Wire or Aluminium Foil.
Armour: Aluminium is used for single cores; Galvanised Steel Wire is used for all other cables.
Tapes: Water blocking tapes are offered to prevent water ingress.
Outer Sheaths: We use many compounds to suit multiple environments, Chemical, Oil, Grease, Rodent Protection, Termite Protection, UV, Flame Resistant, and Halogen Free.
Rest assured we know the MV cable market. Elmeridge produced their first 12kV cable in 1994, and since then the team have continued to produce all medium voltage cables throughout the decades.
As you would expect from a specialist cable supplier, Elmeridge can produce cables to a customers’ specifications and requirements.
